Annie stepped down recently as a member of the board of directors of the Seattle Public Library Foundation after twelve years. It’s been a rewarding experience: “I have enjoyed every minute of being a board member…In particular, I have loved being involved in the Technology & Access working group as part of the Library’s strategic plan; and in participating each year in library budget advocacy with the Seattle City Council. I will always advocate for literacy, and for the library as a shining example of a democratic institution that continues to work in our turbulent society.”
Searle will join the Emeritus Board of the library foundation early in 2020.
Her previous board work includes the Washington Commission for the Humanities (now Humanities Washington), Washington Works, the Millionair Club, and NPowerSeattle. Her public sector advisory committee/council work has included the City of Seattle’s Disaster Management Committee, Pacific Northwest Disaster Resiliency Advisory Council, the King County Emergency Operations Management Committee, and the BITS Advisory Council of the Financial Services Roundtable.
